Role of Supervisor
A supervisor’s main role in providing a safe working environment is to:
- know and understand the procedures and who to contact when responding to emergency situations.
- train or ensure employees are trained in emergency response tactics.
- share news, updates, and resources with employees that highlight recent real life occurrences and warnings about safety threats and precautions that provide relevant and timely examples, advice, and guidance.
- designate staff for emergency roles and post relevant information that provide quick access and reference for handling emergency situations.
- follow through and ensure staff follows through on reporting and other recommendations or requirements made by emergency services personnel.
