UC-Wide

UC Sexual Violence and Harassment Prevention Training

Local Governing Body/Local Resource: Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (OEOD)  

For Supervisors and Faculty           

This is a two hour course required on an biennial basis. Employees identified by OEOD is meeting this "supervisor" or "faculty" definition will be assigned this training.

For Staff

This is a one hour course required on an biennial basis. Employees not identified as being in the "supervisor and faculty" audience will be assigned the "staff" version of this training.

Compliance Briefing

Local Governing Body/Local Resource: Campus Ethics and Compliance Officers

All employees are required to complete this training on a biennial basis. Assignment will be via the UC Learning Center with email notification.

Trainings will include either of the following:

      1. Compliance and Conflict of Interest for Researchers (COIR)
        • For all University researchers
      2. General Compliance Briefing: UC Ethical Values and Conduct
        • For all other UC employees

In addition, those employees whose positions are listed in the University's Conflict of Interest Code, and who are required to file a Statements of Economic Interest (Form 700), will take following one hour briefing:

      1. Conflict of Interest for Designated Officials (not found in the UC Learning Center)

Local Governing Body/Local Resource: Conflict of Interest Coordinator

UC Cyber Security Awareness

Local Governing Body/Local Resource: Office of Information Technology  

Trainings include:

      1. UC Cyber Security Awareness
        • All employees are required to take this course once.
      1. UC Cyber Security Awareness - Refresher
        • Assigned annually upon one-time completion of UC Cyber Security Awareness.



UCI Health

Annual Training

This training is assigned on an annual basis to Health Affairs employees. Depending on your role, you may be assigned the healthcare, support services, laboratory, or administrative version. Depending on the version assigned, you may review some or all of the following: hand hygiene and environmental cleaning; workplace wellness; standard and isolation/transmission based precautions; Bloodborne pathogens; aerosol transmitted diseases; healthcare-associated infections emergency management; fire/life safety; general safety; public safety; hazardous materials; radiation safety; equipment/utility system failures; language services.

Healthcare Vendor Relationship Policy

This training is assigned on an annual basis to Health Affairs employees. The assignment reviews the UC Healthcare Vendor Policy, which was adopted systemwide in July 2008. It is mandated and enforced by the Compliance & Privacy Office.

UCI Health Compliance Program

This training is assigned on an annual basis to all Health Affairs employees. The training covers: elements of the Compliance Program; the UCI Health Code of Conduct and how it applies to you; examples of fraud, waste, and abuse; how to report compliance concerns. It is mandated and enforced by the Compliance & Privacy Office.

Safety Training Self Assessment (STSA) and Resulting Safety Trainings

Local Governing Body/Local Resource: Environmental Health and Safety

Who takes the STSA

Fulfill the STSA - log in and select the green "Safety Training Self Assessment" button NOTE: Currently the STSA is down for improvements. Your supervisor should work with you to determine required safety training until the STSA is available again.

In addition, employees are required to complete all courses that are assigned to them as a result from completing the STSA, including re-taking courses that require periodic certification at the designated time intervals.

HIPAA

Local Governing Body/Local Resource: UC Campus and Health Center Privacy Liaisons

HIPAA regulations apply to employees, healthcare providers, trainees and volunteers at UC medical centers and affiliated health care sites or programs and employees who work with UC health plans. HIPAA regulations also apply to anyone who provides financial, legal, business, or administrative support to UC healthcare providers or health plans.

The following courses are assigned to the appropriate personnel through the UC Learning Center:

      1. Privacy and Security Training – HIPAA Health Care (a pre-requisite to EPIC)
      2. Privacy and Security Training – HIPAA Campus

The user is required to spend at least 30 minutes within the course.

In addition, anyone may register for and complete the Privacy and Security Training – HIPAA Campus  in the UC Learning Center.

CANRA

California Law, via the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA), requires employers to identify employees as "Mandated Reporters" - individuals who are required to report observed or suspected child abuse or neglect to designated law enforcement officials or social service agencies.
